Welcome to Ayia Zoni Apartments. We are a small family business situated on the outskirts of Neo Chorio, a small traditional village in the Akamas Peninsula Located on a hill overlooking Chrysohous Bay, all our luxurious apartments have a panoramic view of Chrysohous Bay, the Baths of Aphrodite and the Akamas Peninsula. Despite the pressures of Tourism, this remains an unspoiled area and some of the finest beaches on the island are to be found here such as that at Lara, a breeding site for the endangered green and Careta-Careta turtles. Akamas itself is named after a Athenian hero of the Trojan War who according to mythology married Aphrodite. It is a region of breathtaking beauty. On the Northern coast of the peninsula, a footpath leeds to a grotto with a pool fed by a parennial spring. Here in the midst of a dense growth of cane and fern with the branches of fig tree providing a leafy canopy, is the legendary bathing place of Aphrodite. The ice cold water of the pool is said to have rejuvenating power. Enthousiastic walkers will enjoy the nature trails of the beautiful Akamas Peninsula. At the fishing harbour of Latchi there are many restaurants specializing in fresh fish and meze. At the harbour, watersports, diving and boat excursions are also available. Paphos airport is only 40kms away; less than one hour's drive. In Paphos itself there are many interesting sites to see including the wonderful mosaics in Kato Paphos. On the road out of Paphos towards Polis, set in the hillside, is the monastery of Ayios Neophytos. | ||||||||||||||||
